Hi Albert!

Can you tell us a little about yourself and your background?

From the age of 18 I lived abroad for about five years where I did everything but read a book. Here I lived life, surfed as much as I could and if I wasn't in the water I ate food. But one sudden day in an unknown place in New Zealand, I woke up in a damp and slightly smelly van and felt such an incredible urge to finally get home and start my education. In other words, I cleared my head so much that I felt an urgent need to fill it again. A high recommendation for lost souls.
The next day I was on the plane home and three months later I entered the university where I initially studied Russian for a year and then continued with a bachelor's degree in peace and conflict studies. It feels as if three years later, after a busy university education, I was sitting with a jacket over my shoulders and was vice president of a medium-sized company. It was a bit of a shock, but where I also found something I liked and was good at.
At Reunion, I have received an education minus the student loans, where I have learned how to build a sustainable business structure and run a team, which is something I will use for the rest of my life.

What does a typical working day look like?

I often struggle out of bed at 7.30am to travel the two meters I have to my bathtub. I'm not a very early riser.
When the warm water soothes me and my soul, I get up and start the day. Often I start the morning by analyzing sales numbers and data to see if I can find new patterns that have been created that we get to work on. I clear my email, maybe write another text and then head to the office between 9.30-10.00am to start the day with my dear team.
We often start by packing your wonderful orders, and if it's not a campaign that's going out, we have a live one or that we're going to develop a new function or concept, website, etc.. No two days are the same, but every day is a fun challenge.
I lead my team and write 90% of the texts you get to read each week while working with the three e-shops we are currently responsible for.
It is a very changing job but also very easy as we have the world's best staff.

What do you like most about your job?

I love the challenge. When the water is flowing and everything is going as it should, my energy can quickly run out. I am passionate about new projects and love to dive into uncharted waters.
At Reunion we have the same challenges as anyone who wants to modernize and grow, and juxtaposing this with economic disruptions in the global world community has been a huge learning and challenge that I thoroughly enjoy!
I also appreciate working with my team, every day I look forward to meeting them to come up with new opportunities and solutions!

How would you describe the company's culture and work environment?

Almost two years ago, Josefin and I joined Reunion to structure and develop our e-commerce.
We started in a windowless basement and worked day in and day out to launch what we knew we could create, a state of the art e-commerce site optimized for you lovely customers to have the absolute best shopping experience.
With this work, our environment and culture have been shaped. Working for a large but at the same time small company gave us the freedom to create what we dreamed of, while at the same time we worked out a work structure that gives us the flexibility to be involved in the changes. Lisa, my partner, also quickly joined the company and little by little we have now grown into the company we are today. Over time we have become good friends and a little Reunion family.
What characterizes us is the enormous development all employees have experienced in recent years. The stoicism that has emerged is enormous, where we have gone from being small question marks to becoming the competent team we are today.
A team with front legs like no other, where every challenge and problem is received with fighting spirit and joy. Certainly, our growth phase has come with chafing, but above all it has contributed to personal development, where we can now take on whatever challenge presents itself.
We work on "The reunion way", which means love, understanding and pure will to fight. A perfect combination to create a workplace that allows life and joy. Then we also have a dog nursery, which of course also contributes to a wonderful environment. Now we also have Shilla in place and all of a sudden our part of the company has become what Josefin and I dreamed of a year and a half ago. I am so incredibly proud of my team and look forward to every aspect that the future holds.

What are your interests outside of work?

As an entrepreneur, I am constantly working, if not in the office then in my head.
But I like to create room and space for other things when I'm in the woods, on a hike, lying and reading a book in the bath or lying on the Sunday sofa listening to the echo with my wonderful partner and colleague Lisa.
I also enjoy surfing and skateboarding. Imagine a very very active 65 year old. Can go from p2 classic morning to ride in Sarek followed by a skatepark session in two red seconds. Then I'm happy to stand in the kitchen for four hours to cook a good dinner, I've been working with cooking for a long time before I came to Reunion, and it's something I look forward to developing well into the days of my life.

What is your favorite food?

Tacos and snuff, of course. Stupid question.

What is the most memorable thing you have experienced in life?

Once upon a time, I had a good friend who drowned during a surfing trip.
It opened my eyes to the fact that life is short, and that it is never worth putting things off. It is a philosophy I will never forget.
Money in the bank and distant dreams are not for me.
Life is lived now, where every day is a unique opportunity to be who you are, or get one step further towards a goal you set. We are only flesh and bones, purpose is up to ourselves to create and every day process. It was important for me to gain such clarity early in life, it has made me set goals for myself that I would never have dreamed of before.
Everything is doable in a lifetime, it's just about passion, energy and love, something that isn't always easy to balance and something you can't take for granted for the rest of your life.
Life is now simply simple, that is my constant affirmation.
